12 oil and gas projects to start operational in 2020
Jakarta (ANTARA) – At least 12 oil and gas projects will start operational in 2020, Indonesia’s Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources said.
The projects are expected to help develop more new resources and increase the yield for exports and domestic needs.
“The President (Joko Widodo) has instructed us to raise oil and gas lifting as for the past years there had been a drop in our oil and gas productions,” Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Arifin Tasrif said in a statement received here, Sunday.
The Indonesian government has set a production target at 1,946 million of barrels of oil equivalent per day (mboepd) comprising 755 mboepd oil and 1,191 mboped of gas in the 2020 state budget. Therefore, the 12 projects are expected to meet the oil lifting target set by the ministry this year.
The 12 projects include Bukit Tua Pashe-3 project run by Malaysia’s Petronas Carigali Ketapang III Ltd; Grati Pressure Lowering project by Ophir Indonesia (Sampang) Pty; Buntal-5 project by Medco Energy; Sembakung power plant construction by state-owned Pertamina EP; Randu Gunting project by Pertamina Hulu Energy; Kompresor Betung project by Pertamina EP; Malaca Strait Phase-1 (EPF) by EMP Malaca Strait; Meliwis project by Ophir Indonesia (Madura Offshore) Pty. Ltd.; Merakes project by Eni East Sepinggan Ltd.; and Peciko 8A project by Pertamina Hulu Mahakam.
